FMS - Fishery Management Services
Venue: Thwaite
The smallest roach and rudd were all removed from Thwaite Lake 1 in the autumn. As a consequence, this affected the fishing in the winter with low levels of fish being caught. However, the immature carp, skimmers and roach are now growing on to fill the gap and just recently the lake is fishing back to its best.
Lake 2 has fished very well all year. The middle spit has now fully reopened as the offending loose tree has been removed.
Lake 3 now contains some chub between 2 and 3lb and we are in the process of buying some good sized perch to add. We intend this year to take out most of the small silvers.
Night fishing is allowed at Thwaite.
