Now while my review of Pure Malt seems less than favorable it in no way means that I dislike this fragrance. Its very good for a designer Whiskey release & its very mass appealing compared to Niche Whiskey Fragrances which smell as if you've been binge drinking. This fragrance is well-suited for men of all ages and styles. It is not too overpowering, but it is still noticeable enough to make a statement. A*Men Ultimate is a great choice for men who are looking for a signature scent that is both stylish and sophisticated.

If you travel to UAE, you'll find many more local brands with almost identical scent. I think the name Amber Wood is a bit misleading because the amber note in this fragrance is not the heavy amber resins which is the common one. I always find that note too feminine and mature. Instead what you get here is a very musky and fresh amber. To the person that said this is a youthful scent. LOL No effing way! This is 30+, whiskey neat, cigar in the other hand all day. awesome,awesome,awesome.one of the best perfume i have ever buy in my life along 1million(when it released not now) with the very good price.this perfume prove me another time that high price is not mean beter thing.i always want to have boozy and delicious scent that make me and people around crazy and yes this one absolutely do that. The opening of A*Men Ultimate is very fresh, aquatic-like. I don't get much bergamot. The fresh fades after about ten seconds into a candy sweetness that reminds me of walking into an old five and dime store full of every candy you can imagine, and I like this but hate it at the same time. I do not detect balsam fir, and there is only a very small hint of cocoa in the dry-down. Vanilla dominates the fragrance, but it is a synthetic vanilla, not natural vanilla. I feel like they were aiming for a similar vibe to Le Male or Eros; even the bottle is blue-green like both those. Projection is minimal, sillage (scent trail) seems almost zero, odor life short, but some of the base notes hang on for a whole day but with no projection.

The end game seems similar to original A*Men. Pure Malt winds up confectionary-like because of the dominant vanilla. Sniffing my wrist after seven or eight hours I smell toffee, though I'm surprised to discover some residual patchouli lingers at this very late stage. I'd be rating Pure Malt appreciably higher had the whiskey and peat notes properly lasted into the dry down and blunted the potent vanilla. I doubt it’ll be what you’re looking for in a daily wear, but as a secondary option you break out on occasion, this is a definite yes. I am in receipt of your message regarding the difference between the original A*Men Pure Malt and the A*Men Pure Malt Liqueur de Parfum Creation 2013. The whole thing is warm, sweet, and gourmand. Angel Men Pure Malt is an experience all its own and probably one of the best colognes on the market. It’s application is niche, but it does things so utterly well, that I want to spray it on more and more.

Another update: the more that I’ve worn this, the more the positive reactions, outweigh the negative or indifferent. There are times, where this gets an insane number of complements, while out on the town.

Amber Wood lays on like a silk scarf, the note are heavy, but it keeps this weightlessness to its performance which plays peek-a-boo for a whole entire day. The scent is linear as I’ve ever experienced, which is my single worry. When you actually smell it at the 12th hour, it’s the same smell as the first.. there’s this constant, persistent hum of Amber Wood throughout the day that gets kind of tiring, kinda of annoying, but I’m not one for linear scents.
