Success can be a drug. It can take hold of you and turn you into a junkie, lead you to do things you don’t want to, and turn you into a person you don’t want to be. When it comes to getting wealth or the spotlight, a lot of people want it. But very few can handle it and maintain their sense of self and sanity. The Gilded Age’ Cast: Meet The New Season 2 Cast Members, From Robert Sean Leonard, to Christopher Denham, And More So, this gem is all about our inner monsters - yes kids, my friends - we ALL have them! There’s no denying it - “denial” is a river in Egypt - and unless you’re on a kayak in that river - forget about it. So now, I must ask you, what’s your monster or perhaps monsters? Regardless of the monster’s you have lurking - remember this - what I just learned thanks to this book. Because when you feel comfortable, you relax. When you relax, you get lazy. When you get lazy, life passes you by." The book was funny. I literally read it in his voice! Lol. Loved the personalities of the characters and the vibe of the story. This was a very motivating and inspirational essay written by Kevin Hart that I really enjoyed reading. He is by far one of my most favorite comedians, and I admire his intellect as much as I do his jokes and stories. What people don’t realize is that discomfort is temporary. What happens after that discomfort is the immense sense of power and freedom that comes from having been able to do something about it, to be able to replace things that aren’t working with things that will. When you feel safe, like you can protect yourself, you will be willing to journey further into the unknown and take on bigger risks. So these tools are not just for preparation—they’ll also lead to more opportunity.

Honestly, I apparently realised which particular Kevin Hart is the author after I completed the book. I loved the actor's work but I was glad that did not influence me to love / hate the book. The plot is pretty straightforward here and one can easily spot the climax way early in the second half of the book. What was not expected was the slight twist that was brought at the end of the book which did made me increase the rating a notch higher. Especially in the hyper-connected age of social media – all you have to do is scroll down to any comment section to see it. Perfectionism – No perfect person exists. Therefore, don’t strive for perfection, and don’t beat yourself up if you make mistakes Okay, here’s the bad news. We’re living in pretty difficult times. The world is more connected and yet more divided than ever before. Hate is prevalent and negativity rife. Regardless, it definitely leaves you wanting to examine your own inner “control monster”. Where it came from, how it manifests; what affect that has and if it actually serves you. Because it’s so short, though, I feel like most of the book spent more time on identifying that control issues are present in the first place versus what to do about them.

Bruce Lee's Daughter Says She Doesn't Know What Quentin Tarantino's "Issues Are" With Her Father: "He Has Borrowed From Him Quite A Bit" I couldn't pass up the opportunity to listen to the audio read by.... of course... Kevin Hart. Man did I laugh. He is as funny on audio as he is in movies. Very detailed steps for making a movie written as a narrative. Great for kids/teens into film-making; maybe a little slow for those not so into it. Thank you, Kevin for giving me this idea to use on my sister! She is notoriously one of THOSE people lol, and it personally drives me insane!)The smartest person in the room never says they’re the smartest person in the room. The smartest person in the room lets everybody talk, and they listen so they can get even smarter. The smartest person in the room is the spongiest. Facts.
