About this deal

Advanced Diamond Ceramic Coating has 10x more ceramic and is infused with diamond particles to give you even heat distribution and 5x smoother glide to help you create sleek, smooth styles vs standard ceramic coating. There are lots of good things to say about the Remington hair curler, and if you’re in the market for a new curling wand then Remington is a good brand for a hair curler. The PROluxe You Adaptive Straightener has 2 StyleAdapt user profiles to store two sets of unique user data. Both users can individually store their personalised heat setting - perfect for if you share your straighteners with someone else. This is not necessarily a performance metric, but a big plus for anxious types like me is that these stylers automatically turn off after 60 minutes of not being used for extra peace of mind. What’s not so good about them?

But this was no ordinary launch, oh no — it was the first ever AI hair care range, called Remington PROluxe You, whereby AI technology learns and adapts the heat of its tools (including the aforementioned hair dryer and curler, plus a straightener, hot brush and hot air styler) to your personal styling wants and needs. Impressive, eh? I sprayed some heat protection spray, loaded up Beyoncé’s greatest hits and set the curler at 180°, which I felt was an accurate temperature for my hair type. As you style the sensor along the barrel reads your hair’s temperature More than 5500 Times***per styling session, learning about your hair and styling technique. So, what's the verdict of my Remington Proluxe You Adaptive Straightener review? If you’re looking for a smart straightener that knows how to give you smooth, sleek hair fast, then this is worth every single penny. It glides through their hair easily with no snagging, and the results are long-lasting. You will need to be a little patient though, as it does take a few uses for the straighteners to fully adapt to your hair’s needs. But if you’re perfectly happy with your current hair dryer and hair curler, and aren’t overly fussed about having personalised hair tools, I wouldn’t necessarily feel that you need the Remington Proluxe range. Your hair is unique, so your styling tools should be too. That's why the PROluxe You Adaptive Straightener is just for you. It's Intelligent StyleAdapt Technology learns, adapts and personalises the heat to your hairs' own styling needs - so you can achieve all day lasting salon-quality results that are tailored to you. This is hotter than I would usually go (for reference, my GHD Platinum+ hair straightener is set at 185°C) and I haven’t yet tested for long enough to see how this would impact the health of my hair. It is a catch-22 situation, as I would need to pass over each section of hair multiple times using these straighteners at lower temperatures, compared to just one pass at a higher heat setting. For these reasons, I’d be likely to switch between adaptive and manual modes. Remington Proluxe You Adaptive Straightener review: My verdict When the Manual mode is on, that simply means that you just want to dry your hair normally without any fancy technology, and so the StyleAdapt Technology sensor doesn't light up).

The sensor feeds the temperature readings into an Intelligent Microprocessor, and after styling each section the LED Indicator spins as it adjusts the heat of the barrel to the ideal temperature for your hair. The PROluxe You Adaptive Straightener has Two StyleAdapt User Profiles to store two sets of unique user data. Both users can individually store their personalised heat setting – perfect for if you share your straighteners with someone else. Discover More This allows you to choose how you would like your hair to be dried, according to the personal needs of your hair. You can also adjust the temperature settings with the plus or minus buttons as per a standard curling wand, with the temperature beginning at 130° and rising in 10° increments to 210°. Our testers liked using the Pro+ function, as it didn’t overheat the hair but was still effective at styling. It left hair shinier and feeling “silky smooth”, with all of the panel agreeing that their hair looked healthier after using the straighteners. The variable temperature functions made it suitable for those with different hair types and our testers were happy with the heat-up time. The styler was lightweight and most agreed that one swipe was enough to produce satisfactory results. Key Specifications As you can get quite a lot of hair between the plates at once, it took around 15 minutes to fully straighten my shoulder-length hair in four sections. I was impressed with the results: shiny hair that felt soft and silky with just a small amount of static. I’ve had this kind of result from straighteners before, only to find that I have fluffy and frizzy hair come lunchtime, but these really did go the distance, and my hair was just as satisfyingly sleek by evening.Although I didn’t personally see a difference in using the hair dryer (I’ve been using it for about four weeks) I do trust that Remington is a good brand that knows what they’re doing when it comes to hair care. I loved the idea of a styler that adapts to my hair, but I can’t truthfully say that I’ve seen a difference from a standard curler. If you are sharing your curler, you can press the StyleAdapt button (a small hexagon enclosed in a larger hexagon shape) to reveal StyleAdapt 2 on the display, which means that someone else can use it without the tool unlearning what it has about your hair.
